Chakra is a sanskrit word meaning wheel or disc. Each of these wheels/discs rotate managing the energy flow between or spiritual and physical body. According to the original teachings there are 88,000 energy flow points in the body. Mostly they are small and of little significance to our daily routines. Forty of these energy points are in  our hands feet and shoulders, playing a primary role in how we react, sensitively to events around us. The main seven chakra/energy points are the ones most discussed and worked with in resolving issues of energy within our lives.

We hold  memory of all past soul travel within these points and it is believed that during this Earth journey we have chosen to resolve some of these issues residing in these energy wheels. Communication, relationships, home, family, abundance, power are just a few examples of the energy issues we undertake during this journey. We react and interact to conscious and subconscious thoughts projected through community, close friends and media.

The result is tiredness, euphoria, peace, calm, harmony etc depending on how each event reacts within your own energy field. Chakras are energy transmitting and receiving stations. We transmit energy, turning it into messages or feelings for other people. We are constantly receiving messages from other people, either subliminally subconsciously or in an aware state. Often the energy from others is an intrusion on our own energy patterns and may leave us thinking that we have moods, thoughts or feelings which are not actually are own.

ENERGY  FLOW

Nerves are extremely important whether a person is dealing primarily with spiritual flow or Kundalini energies. Both of these energies manifest through the nervous system, pushing them to extend and receive more energy, thus heightening our awareness. Sometimes your nerves will feel more raw, and you will fell tense and irritable. That is the time to either suspend or limit these energy exercises. Perhaps you have been doing too well and brought too much energy into your nervous system. Calming and catching up is essential.

Calming Your Nerves – a mindfulness meditation

Imagine lying on a beach: The tide is coming in and gently washing all tension and negativity away, taking it back into the water to be cleansed in the ocean of life. Repeat until you have a calm and peaceful feeling all over your system.

Learn to meditate with Colour Meditation:

Sometimes your nerves lack or are deficient in one of the components of white light. Think of the ends of your nerves all over your body; imagine them filled with a red light and love (love doesn’t dig up old frustrations); then an orange light, a yellow light, a green light, blue light and purple light, ending with a radiant white light filling your nerve endings. Many times you will discover one of the colours rushing into the nerves; then you know you were deficient in it.

Visualising:

An excellent way to nourish and build up your nerves is to look at colours or visualise favourite ones. You may wish to use coloured light bulbs to change the colour energy of your area.

Where your nerves power your physical body, the nadis power the higher mental and spiritual bodies. Nadis are like nerve channels of a more subtle etheric nature. There are many thousands of them and they are very important as vehicles for entry and circulation of the Life force (prana) of the system.

The three main nadis are are primary for chakra meditation
Sushumna – the spiritual essence which goes up the centre of the spine
Ida – female polarity (negative in electrical terms)
Pingala – male polarity (positive in electrical terms)
Ida and Pingala begin on either side of the tailbone and weave back and forth around the spinal area (much as the snake in the Cadeus of Hermes) They cross at the base of the skull, run over the top of the nose and end in each corner of the nose.

Balancing exercise for overloaded Ida or Pingala:

Visualize the end of the tailbone free of stress and open to receive the Kundalini energy. Now visualise the left side of the tailbone, where Ida begins, also opened and stress free. Then visualise the bottom of the right side of the tailbone where Pingala begins, free of stress and open. Visualise or imagine  about half of the Kundalini flow coming into Sushumna, going up the spine; divide the remaining half equally between Ida and Pingala. Let the Kundalini in Sushumna rise up the spine and out the top of the head to mix with the divine energy and shower back over the body. Now bring the Kundalini energy through Ida and Pingala The Ida energy will come out the left side of the bottom of the nose and the Pingala out the right side; let this energy mix with the inbreath, then go into the lungs to refine the whole body and uplift the cells. (if the nose itches take 5 or 6 short breaths)
